Sealcoating Services
Asphalt sealcoating is a protective coating applied to asphalt pavement surfaces to extend their lifespan and enhance their appearance. It acts as a barrier, shielding the pavement from damaging effects of sunlight, water, oil, and other external elements. Sealcoating helps prevent oxidation, cracks, and deterioration of the asphalt surface, ultimately reducing the need for costly repairs and maintenance.
The sealcoat material typically consists of a mixture of asphalt emulsion or coal tar pitch, water, mineral fillers, and additives. It is applied evenly to the pavement surface using specialized equipment such as spray systems or squeegees. Once applied, the sealcoat forms a smooth, protective layer that seals small cracks and imperfections, providing a uniform, black finish to the pavement.
Sealcoating is recommended for both newly installed asphalt surfaces and existing pavements that have begun to show signs of wear and aging. It is an essential part of asphalt maintenance programs, helping property owners and managers protect their investments and prolong the lifespan of their asphalt surfaces.
